these logos are very feminine in there presentation. each at least have a bit of pink in them which is supposed to be the color for girls. The Barbie logo is very girly the way it's set out and it's also great text for children. With the Porcelain logo it's trying to be formal with the text using a large letter and stylizing it like in medieval time. Then with the cabbage Patch Kids it is extremely child like and innocent with the baby face in the cabbage as their logo.

Week five Readings

This reading was about all about text and how important it is with in design mainly with the positioning. the simplest things can mean the most, just the way a bit of space between the letters can just make the whole design around it work. i found this helped in this weeks work shop. like indenting text and the position just brings every thing together. Text isn't one of the most important thing's it's equally important as the rest and need as much thought as an image or logo. It's position, size, font and color all play a major part in the finished product to inform and portray information that is unable to be displayed with in the image or logo.

The three Jewellery Shop logo are very similar in the way they are presented. None of them have a symbol as a logo it's just their type. Each in a formal style text they are all very eloquent in their presentation.

Week Four Readings

david Airey's explanation for how to write a design brief was great, it explained to great extent how to work with the client and how important a design brief is. it really helps with setting out, and showing what you want to achieve and how much you are worth so if the client doesn't want you he can tell you at the start before the work is done. i will defiantly be looking back at this site for future reference upon my career. This weeks class was about a jewellery shop and creating letter heads with their logo and well as ads and I thought about what Ariey said and  knowing about the company and doing research would help to design the logo and give the client what they really wanted.

Target are a great component for myer. It mainly their reputation that makes them such competitor to myer and their target market has a lot more range then myer. The logo it's self has a great idea but it's not as formal as what myer is.

The Bonds logo designed in black and white is just as affective as the myer logo since they can both work well in black and white ad's. The plain simple text makes it easy to recognize but like the myer logo bonds mainly attract the younger audience.

Nike another logo in black and white is very  similar to myer and bonds. the simple logo has one up on the other's though because the logo type is not it's logo. on the other hand the it's similar in the fact that  it only advertises to a certain audience.

Week Three Readings

Week three's reading where cool. the design for the children's museum they came up with was great. it helped with the setting out of my design for myer at least in my head lol, although i think my design is a little to 'tweaked' for the company i think it would attracted the younger clients. but i enjoyed this weeks reading because in the first part with the museum their images look like a lot of fun and also when u put them in order they're climbing lol. The colors they used with their design complement the image and they sute the products they go on also it would be really easy to create an add with. The second design for the entertainment centre Metreon i thought the final design was the best, it look's formal but inviting, the other designs for it just seemed to reject shop for me compared the the final project. some of the others look like they are for a tv station. i like the way the final one is presented it unusual but works well.
